Nano-Keratin
Rejuvenating hair treatment

What is Nano-Keratin?
Nano-Technology is a new science that turns regular molecules into a significantly smaller size.
By using Nano-technology tiny keratin particles are produced.

Why nano-Keratin?
Hair consists mainly of protein (90% protein or keratin), Lipids (fats) and water.
As depicted below, a strand a strand of hair consists of 4 layers:

The Outer Layer
• The Cuticle

The Inner Layers
• The Cortex
• The Cell Membrane Complex
• The Medulla

Studies have shown that most, if not all, conditioning treatments on the market today ONLY treat the outer cuticle layer. This is understandable- it is the inner cortex that constitutes the major portion of fibers and proteins which give the hair stability and strength. In the past, this inner layer was difficult to treat because the overlapping cuticle cells (see above) blocked the penetrating of nutrients found in traditional products.
Hair loses protein (keratin) over time due to pollution, exposure to sunlight, chemical processing and natural aging. To effectively replenishing and strengthen the hair, it is necessary to treat the inner cortex and replace the lost protein. Current treatments benefit the outer, cuticle layer: a temporary fix for a deeper problem.

About the Active Ingredients…
The active ingredient in NANO-KERATIN is a purified protein isolated from a plant.

NANO-KERATIN’S small protein molecules effectively penetrate through the cuticle layer and replenish the cortex with protein, giving the hair a wonderful, long-lasting silky feeling and an amazing shine. This is why NANO-KERATIN is not comparable to any other hair treatment.

Lab researchers have found that NANO-KERATIN rejuvenates and rebuilds the hair like no other conditioning or so-called deep-conditioning treatment.

Nano-Keratin is so pure and is balanced and it is applied to the hair, in doses according to length. This all natural process is broken down into different lengths and stages.

Liscio Japanese Straightening System

Liscio is a hair straightening technique developed in Japan, inspired by professional stylists to transform very curly, kinky hair into smooth straight hair. Liscio enables stylists to create a variety of textures - from sleek, pin-straight to natural straight with body - by providing all the necessary tools including straighteners, different ironing techniques, and protein treatments
Theory: Why is my hair curly?
Human hair is made up of two kinds of proteins. In curly hair, the two proteins do not mix consistently, making the hair strands flatter and twisted. The surface of curly hair feels rough and the thickness is often uneven. The more inconsistent the protein mixture is, the more the hair expands when exposed to humidity.
The Process:
Hair consultation is a very important step in the hair straightening process. During the consultation, your stylist will listen to your needs, ask your hair history, assess the condition of your hair, and then decide what techniques should be used to achieve the results you want.
The protein treatment is required for hair that is already damaged when a client comes to a stylist for a consultation. The treatment is customized to restore lost nutrients to the hair depending on the extent of the damage. What seems like water being sprayed by the stylist is actually hair components such as keratin and CMC that the hair has lost.

Your stylist will select the appropriate straightener and protection to achieve the texture and finish that you want. The straightener softens the cuticle layers on the surface of the hair and penetrates to cut the bonds between the proteins inside, preparing the hair for straightening. The Liscio system includes straighteners of different strengths to straighten and smooth all types of hair – from tight curls to loose curls to wavy. Straighteners are available in gel and cream form. Your stylist can select from the complete line of Liscio products to create any style desired, including pin-straight hair and naturally straight with body and movement. Liscio straighteners can also be used to soften curls and make the hair more manageable by eliminating frizz.

Bending, pulling, and making a knot with the hair are techniques for gauging how much your hair has been processed. If the hair is under-processed, curls and waves will remain. However, if the hair is overprocessed, damage will result. If you want body in your hair, your hair needs to be rinsed to stop the processing when there is still a little wave left. This is a very important technique that requires skill and experience on the part of the stylist. After the hair is sufficiently processed, the rinsing procedure will follow. Application of the hair treatment after rinsing helps keep the hair healthy.

The heat from ironing severs any bonds remaining between the proteins that were not cut by the straightener. The ironing process restructures the hair into a straight form and smoothes the cuticle layers on the surface of the hair. Your stylist will adjust the temperature, moisture level inside the hair, and heat application time based on the condition of your hair. Different ironing techniques yield different finishes. Your stylist may choose to blow dry your hair instead of ironing for a more natural finish.

Neutralization is the process in which the bonds between the proteins are reconnected in a new straight form and one of the major benefits of Liscio thermal reconditioning over other types of relaxers. Because Liscio reconnects bonds that were previously cut, the hair remains healthy while being transformed from curly to straight. Hair coating agents are applied on top of the neutralizer to leave a shiny, healthy finish.
Hair stylists choose the best straighteners, treatments, and techniques for different hair textures and desired finishes. No matter how curly or damaged your hair is the beautiful straight hair you dream of can be yours – safely.
